Our Story
Every story has a beginning. This is ours…
Had you known John Moody before his mid-20s, you would have never guessed he’d someday start Whole Life Buying Club. His health was deteriorating and he suffered from allergies, constant ailments, duodenal ulcers, and dental decay. He says that as a child his main food groups were sugar, processed breakfast cereal, and cookies. Growing up, he ate very little vegetative matter. He often jokes that his allergies were so bad that Benadryl sent him free stock options as a thank you for his consistent purchases of their products!
When John saw that his doctors had nothing to offer him other than medication, he began to look for his own answers. He came across the work of Weston A. Price, and through real food, he was able to heal his allergies, tooth decay, ulcers, and all his chronic conditions. He was in better health in his 30s than in his 20s!
It did not take long before John and his family realized the challenges that can come with obtaining real food from local sources. They noticed the increased cost, and that many items being marketed as “healthy” were nothing more than organic junk food. Not to mention that farmers were not being properly compensated.
So, it began as the Moodys and some friends decided to join together and purchase a whole cow from a farmer. The beef was delivered to their tiny apartment, and they moved furniture around in their living room and turned the thermostat to the lowest setting to keep the meat cool until the others could pick up their share. The Moodys and the 7 other families realized the power of banding together to work directly with farmers.
And so, Whole Life was born.
